I am looking for examples of ex-Googlers or Ex-Microsofters ( or other big companies leavers) who, after leaving the established company, went on to build their own, became hugely successful in their own companies, and then managed to sell back their startup to their former employers or having a mutual beneficial relationship with their former employers, in the way that wouldn't be possible if they didn't leave and strike out on their own in the first place.
I am sure I've read some, but couldn't remember the specific examples. Anyone has any idea?
This Businessweek article titled "Google's Angels" has profiles on lots of them. Have a look. http://www.businessweek.com/smallbiz/running_small_business/archives/2010/02/googles_angels.html Here's a further link: http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/10_10/b4169039637367.htm David Fulton of Foxpro is a bit different but the nature of success is similar. If you haven't read about him, here's a link: http://www.foxprohistory.org/foxstories.htm All those Stradivari!!!
