What things other than just Q&A should Bright Journey have?

Here are some off the top of my head:

  • Polls
  • "Review my startup" (where people can ask for suggestions on their site)
  • Links (similar to Hacker news)

We'll be creating a standard way of doing the items that are finalized. For example: Links and Polls don't make sense in the Q&A, but we could make a separate section on the site dedicated to them.

  • A section like HN would be great! I would be concerned that "Review my startup" would attract a lot of spam. – Chrissie Gray 11 years ago
  • I like the idea of polls a lot, but I'd want the site to be at a stage where there's a large number of daily visitors before implementing it. Small sample sizes aren't as helpful. – Jay Neely 11 years ago
  • @Jay good point! – Nishank Khanna 11 years ago
  • "Review my startup" type questions were insanely popular on answers.onstartups.com, and because they didn't fit the format, they were always closed pretty quickly. Chrissy has a great point about that type of feature being misused/abused/spammed. I'd really love to see that, but it would have to be done carefully, and probably revised as we learn what works and what doesn't. – rbwhitaker 11 years ago
  • Setting a karma threshold to post a review request could be a good way to avoid spam. – Jay Neely 10 years ago
  • @jay That's perfect! – Nishank Khanna 10 years ago
  • AMA's (like Reddit) with influential startup founders. – Patricia Wright 10 years ago
